Comments: So I have been obsessed with this chip shop for months when I found out about it and google image searched it. The pics of dudes serving u with backwards hats on and the words WASSUP and PRIMO in the shop name seemed like a dream come true. It is with great disappointment that I have to report to you that Wassup Primo Fish and Chips has fallen far from what their web presence will lead you to believe. There were definitely an above average amount of chips for a half scoop and the center was nice and soft most of the time but the exterior was hard and plasticky. The fish was large but it was a doughy, thin, shitty precooked fillet which absorbed a lot of oil. They didn't bang and hang for nearly long enough, the decor wasn't "totally vertical", no one hi fived me or had a wallet chain and I feel like I need a top half shower. This blows, dude. This joint was totally bogus, dude.

Comments: I thought I'd try the competition to Nanking Takeaways in Brooklyn (from my review a couple of weeks ago) to see if Zomato was correct in giving the Brooklyn Fish Supply a higher score. In my very honest opinion, Nanking is far superior. The chips here are good but they were pushed a little too hard in the deep fryer to the point where a lot of chips had hollowed out and their creamy center replaced with chip oil. The good chips were good and there was a decent quantity but it was just those few unruly maverick chips that sent shivers down my spine as they burst in my mouth. The fish was the chunkiest fillet I think I have ever had! It was massive and cooked to perfection, however, it was drenched in oil and since they also deal in Chinese food, the oil gave the fish an old wanton meat finish. I couldn't eat all of the batter. Overall it was seasoned well with standard table salt and I don't have a belly full of regret but I'm quite greasy so I need a hose off. So there u have it, kids - don't believe everything you read on the internet.

Comments: Local legend Boss Christ took me and my entourage to his fav neighbourhood chip shop and let me tell you what - it did not disappoint! The level of customisation to your order was intense and their quirky names for their burgers and hot chips topping add ons were funny as ay. Upon purchasing I was given the option of normal salt, chicken salt, garlic salt and lemon pepper. I opted for garlic salt. The chips were incredible and cooked perfectly! Nice bit of bite through to that desired creamy center. The fish was very lengthy and the batter was the right ratio and colour grade. Very enjoyable but it did make my fingers a little tacky but made up for it with the flavour. I'm feeling nice and ready to rock in Palmy tonight! Wish me luck!
