Comments: This place! What a gem! Bloody bargain! I have a feeling someone told them I was coming because not only did I get fast tracked to the front of the rather long cue but I was blessed with 2 for 1 pieces of fish! Chips were plentiful and home made (possibly hand cut). I would have given them a better chip quality score but they were a little too lightly fried than I would have liked. Fish was a good size and would have been happy given just one of the fillets. Batter ratio was perfect and the cut was real tasty but batter was slightly doughy in areas. Pretty much no finger oil residue and a bonus dusting of lemon pepper seasoning. I'm feeling fresh and ready to turn up with my crew tonight. Would trade again!

Comments: This place is pretty good! The service is always great and they don't fuck around. They smashed through the orders and we were out of there in less than 10 mins. Great to see three generations of their family helping out behind the counter. Chips were creamy in the middle and perfectly seasoned with a cheeky bit of chicken salt. Only let down by their waxy/scalded surface texture which gave the roof of my mouth a work out. Fish was well cooked and dusted with lemon pepper seasoning. The batter ratio was on point, however the quality of the cut of fish was below average - flakey, floury and turned to moosh. Finger grease and wax mouth not an issue. Great portion size and cheap as heck.

Comments: This place is great value! So cheap and a lot of food. Chips were abundant and well cooked and seasoned. Only thing that let them down is some chips were pushed a little darker than I prefer but they were still edible. Lucked out with 2 for 1 fish and while it was cooked well and drained sufficiently of oil, it was let down by the cheap veiny cut and the batter to fish ratio was a little too batter dominant for me. Finger grease and waxy mouthfeel pretty much nonexistent. Def seems like they replace their oil frequently or recently. I'm full.

Comments: As soon as I saw this place, I was certain I'd get food poisoning for this review. So far I haven't thrown up or got violent diarrhoea but will keep you posted if I do. Chips were classic Mr Chips chips but they were saturated in oil to the point where I couldn't eat anymore of them - I made it about 2/3 of the way through the relatively small amount of chips. Fish was not very big and extremely thin as though they had filleted a fillet. A cheap cut of fish, it was under cooked which gave it a doughy texture. After taste of old oil and slightly acidic. It continues to repeat on me. Needed a bottle of coke to help digest it and break down the grease in my mouth. I feel gross. Cheap and nasty indeed.
